Welcome to our website. Here you will be able to find out about our youth groups, roller disco & other events as well as ways that you can help us!
Thatcham Youth was established in 2010 when a local young resident approached Thatcham Vision to ask for a youth club for his age group, he was 10 at the time. After lots of meetings with lots of partners and a lot of hard work, Vision Youth Club opened it's doors in April 2010 and cotinues to run today and is a very popular club!
Looking back on 2017/18, the below was written by our Head of Youth Activities Dan Carter.
We're at that time of year where I am having to write report's and evidence our activities for our funders, so I thought it would be a good time to have a quick look back over the year.
First off a massive thank you must go to all of our staff & volunteers who make our activities possible and to our funders and those who have donated to us! Without all of you, what we do wouldn't be possible.
Back last year Thatcham Youth found out that we would be apart of the Co-op Community Fund, where Co-op members can choose us as their charity and donate money with every shop, and the best thing is, it doesnt cost anything for members to do! To support us all you have to do is simply choose us as your cause for your co-op members card and we then receive 1% of all own brand products you buy in store and also a share of the carrier bag charges! Its that simple. We really hope you choose our cause so that we can raise some much needed funds for all of our projects!
Wow! What a great start to 2018 it has been. Both our Vision Youth Club for 7-11 Year Olds & G-STAX Youth Club for 11-13 Year Olds are in full flow, with Vision being full every single night so far and G-STAX has been increasing in attendance every week so far this year.
We have also had a sell our Roller Disco in January for the first time in over a year and our Family Movie Evening returned as well. If anyone is interested in our activities the times & dates are below:
Thatcham Youth are currently seeking to recruit trustees to our management committee.
To be a trustee you will be enthusiastic about either youth work or helping your community, you will be driven and be able to bring something to help the charity. People from all walks of life can help as a trustee, those with youth work backgrounds, social media backgrounds, event planning, financial and more! Being a trustee can be very rewarding as you help to deliver youth services to Thatcham and see the success and results.
